Role Overview We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Commis to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting the kitchen team in daily food preparation and service, ensuring high standards of quality, hygiene, and consistency. This is an entry-level kitchen role ideal for passionate culinary professionals eager to learn and grow in a high-standard environment.

Key Responsibilities Food Preparation & Service

• Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes according to recipes and standards
• Support the Chef de Partie during service to ensure smooth kitchen operations
• Maintain consistency, portion control, and presentation standards
• Follow instructions accurately and efficiently

Kitchen Operations

• Set up and organize workstations before service
• Ensure cleanliness and proper storage of tools, equipment, and ingredients
• Assist with basic cooking tasks under supervision

Hygiene, Safety & Compliance

• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (HACCP)
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, work areas, and equipment at all times
• Ensure proper food handling, labeling, and FIFO procedures

Learning & Development

• Learn and develop culinary skills under the guidance of senior chefs
• Participate in training sessions and daily briefings
• Demonstrate willingness to improve skills and knowledge continuously

Qualifications & Experience

• Culinary diploma or basic professional kitchen training preferred
• Previous experience as a Commis Chef or kitchen trainee is an advantage
• Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety standards
