About the role

Pizza Medira is seeking a Commis to join our kitchen team in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment. As a Commis, you will be an integral part of our kitchen operations, supporting our chefs and contributing to the delivery of high-quality food to our customers. This role is essential to maintaining our kitchen's efficiency and ensuring consistent food standards across all our dishes.

What you'll be doing

1. Preparing ingredients for cooking by washing, peeling, chopping and slicing vegetables, fruits and meats under the direction of senior kitchen staff
2. Assisting in the assembly and plating of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
3. Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace, including washing utensils, pans and kitchen equipment
4. Supporting the cooking process by measuring and portioning ingredients accurately
5. Assisting with food storage and inventory management to ensure quality and freshness
6. Following food safety and hygiene protocols at all times to maintain high standards of food preparation
7. Responding to kitchen demands during service periods and adapting to workload requirements
8. Collaborating with kitchen team members to ensure smooth operations and timely meal preparation

What we're looking for

1. Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation environment is preferred but not essential
2. A strong commitment to food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards
3. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
4. Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
5. Physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods
6. Excellent teamwork and communication skills
7. Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills under the guidance of experienced chefs
8. Flexibility and adaptability to changing kitchen demands and schedules
