Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare ingredients for cooking by washing, peeling, chopping and portioning vegetables, meats and other food items
• Assist senior chefs in the preparation and cooking of dishes according to established recipes and plating standards
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of your assigned workstation, ensuring all equipment and utensils are properly sanitised
• Support various kitchen stations as directed, including hot and cold sections
• Monitor food quality and ensure all dishes meet the restaurant's standards before service
• Follow all food safety and hygiene protocols, including proper food storage and handling procedures
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries in compliance with food safety regulations
• Contribute to inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages to supervisors
• Respond promptly to requests from senior kitchen staff and support service during busy periods

What we're looking for

• Culinary qualification or equivalent training in food preparation and kitchen operations
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety standards
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of food presentation
• Physical fitness and stamina to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team whilst receiving supervision from senior chefs
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn and develop professionally
• Prior experience working in a professional kitchen environment is advantageous
