About the role

A Commis Chef (Kitchen Staff) assists in preparing ingredients and assembling dishes according to the restaurant's recipes and standards. The role involves supporting the Chef and kitchen team in daily operations and service, ensuring food is prepared and presented to established standards, and maintaining cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas and equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients such as vegetables, meat, seafood, sauces, and other materials
• Support the Chef and kitchen team in daily work and service operations
• Prepare and present food according to established standards
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas and equipment
• Strictly follow food hygiene and safety standards
• Store ingredients correctly and maintain appropriate temperatures
• Check quality and freshness of ingredients before use
• Follow cleaning and sterilisation procedures for equipment and work areas
• Work collaboratively with the Chef and kitchen team
• Receive, store, and prepare ingredients and kitchen equipment as needed

About you

• Experience working in a kitchen or restaurant (highly considered)
• Basic knowledge of ingredient preparation and food assembly
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
• Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments
• Teamwork skills and good interpersonal relations
• Enthusiasm for learning and developing culinary skills
