Commis I - Pastry

• Assist with the preparation and production of pastries, desserts, cakes, breads, and other bakery products according to established recipes and standards.
• Carry out daily mise en place and ensure all ingredients are prepared and available for service.
• Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards consistently.
• Assist with baking, mixing, decorating, plating, and finishing pastry products.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic workstation throughout the operation.
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of ingredients and prepared products.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, HACCP, and health and safety standards at all times.
• Assist the Pastry Chef with daily production and special events or functions.
• Minimize food wastage by using ingredients efficiently and following proper stock rotation procedures.
• Clean and maintain pastry equipment, utensils, and work areas.
• Support the pastry team during busy service periods and maintain a high level of productivity.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Pastry Chef or Executive Chef.

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience as a Commis I – Pastry or in a similar pastry/bakery role within the hospitality industry.
• Culinary or pastry qualification is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of pastry and baking techniques.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
• Attention to detail and a genuine interest in pastry.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multicultural culinary team.
• Willingness to learn, develop, and take direction from senior chefs.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by the business.

Pay: QAR2,000.00 - QAR3,500.00 per month
