Commis I- Pastry

As a Commis I – Pastry, you will assist in the preparation and production of pastries, cakes, desserts, and other sweet creations. Your role involves learning and applying pastry techniques, supporting senior pastry chefs, and maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and organization within the pastry kitchen.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in the daily preparation and production of pastries, cakes, desserts, cookies, and other pastry items.
• Prepare ingredients and follow recipes, portion sizes, and standard operating procedures.
• Ensure the quality, freshness, taste, and presentation of all pastry products.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry section, equipment, and workstations.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients according to FIFO procedures.
• Monitor stock levels and inform the supervisor of any shortages or wastage.
• Assist senior chefs with menu preparation, buffet setup, and special events.
• Minimize food wastage and ensure the efficient use of ingredients.
• Follow instructions from the Pastry Chef and complete assigned duties on time.
• Ensure all equipment is handled safely and maintained in good working condition.
• Comply with company policies, health and safety regulations, and departmental procedures.
