Location: Al Ain, UAE
Salary: AED 2,300–2,800 per month

Fold Bakehouse is recruiting a versatile Commis I with strong hot-kitchen experience to join a new concept in Al Ain.

This position is suitable for a motivated kitchen professional who can support pizza production during the initial pop-up while also contributing to Fold’s future savoury menu, including breakfast dishes, sandwiches, salads, sauces and other café-style products.

Previous pizza experience is beneficial but is not essential if the candidate has strong hot-kitchen fundamentals and is willing to complete practical pizza and dough training.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the Chef de Partie with final product and production
• Prepare toppings, sauces, fillings and savoury mise en place
• Assist with dough dividing, shaping, proofing and portioning
• Learn stretching, assembly and oven procedures
• Prepare hot-kitchen items according to approved recipes
• Support the development and preparation of breakfast and savoury products
• Prepare eggs, sandwiches, salads, sauces and related café items
• Follow recipe specifications and portion-control requirements
• Maintain a clean, organised and fully stocked workstation
• Assist during service across different kitchen sections when required
• Monitor product freshness and storage
• Reduce waste through correct preparation and stock rotation
• Follow food-safety, hygiene and allergen-control procedures
• Participate fully in product and operational training

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Strong professional hot-kitchen experience
• Experience in a café, casual-dining restaurant, bakery kitchen or similar operation is preferred
• Knowledge of breakfast dishes, eggs, sandwiches, salads, sauces and savoury mise en place is advantageous
• Pizza experience is advantageous but not mandatory
• Willingness to learn pizza and dough production is essential
• Good knife skills and general kitchen fundamentals
• Able to follow recipes, instructions and portion standards
• Positive, flexible and hardworking attitude
• Comfortable supporting different kitchen sections
• Willing to develop with a small and growing team
• Willing to relocate to or work in Al Ain
• Available to join immediately or on short notice is strongly preferred

PACKAGE

• AED 2,300–2,800 monthly salary
• Salary is inclusive of accommodation and transportation
• Duty meals are not included
• One weekly day off

SELECTION PROCESS

Shortlisted candidates will attend an interview and practical kitchen trial. The assessment may include general preparation, knife skills, organisation, hot-kitchen fundamentals, sauce or breakfast preparation, hygiene standards and ability to follow instructions.
