About the role

Responsible for assisting the supervisors in supervising and coordinating the activities of personnel in the productions of cold dishes, hot food, fruit decoration and related food pertaining to the Food & Beverage department of the hotel.

Key responsibilities

• Assists in supervision and coordination of activities of Demi chef, Commis, Helpers and apprentice
• Assists in planning and coordination of daily production of cold dishes, fruit, hot food, etc according to requirements
• Assists Chef de Partie in performance of his other duties in the kitchen
• Responsible for the kitchen sections in the absence of the Chef de Partie
• Eliminate unnecessary food wastage
• Contribute to the morale and team spirit of the hotel by maintaining effective relationships with colleagues
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Sous Chef/Executive Sous Chef
• Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, and body language
• Control the department expenses within the budget and food cost percentage
• Identify and control all aspects of risk management and implement strategies to minimize incidents and accidents

About you

• Bachelor degree plus technical certificate of diploma or above in related field
• 2-5 years experience in similar position
• Reasonable English language skills
• Sound organizational skills
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team of individuals
• Able to handle demanding workload
• Sound knowledge of working practices of the kitchen
• Ability to work a personal computer (desirable)
• Proven track record in hotel of similar standard in similar capacities (desirable)
