Commis Pastry Chef

Key Responsibilities:

• Production Support
• Assist in the preparation of breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, and other baked goods.
• Follow recipes and guidance from the Pastry Chef to ensure quality and consistency.
• Portion ingredients, prepare fillings, and support mise en place.
• Kitchen Hygiene & Maintenance
• Clean and sanitise pastry tools, equipment, and workstations.
• Ensure proper storage of ingredients and maintain FIFO (First In, First Out) protocols.
• Comply with FSSAI and HACCP food safety and hygiene guidelines.
• Inventory & Stock Assistance
• Assist in monitoring stock levels of baking ingredients.
• Report shortages or quality issues to the senior kitchen team.
• Help with unpacking and organising kitchen supplies.
• Learning & Development
• Observe and learn advanced pastry techniques under the supervision of senior staff.
• Take part in training sessions and contribute ideas during product trials.
• Adapt to café needs, including supporting during high-volume days and special events.

Requirements & Qualifications: Education: Certificate/Diploma in Bakery & Patisserie or Hotel Management Experience: 0–2 years of experience in a bakery, café, or commercial kitchen

• Basic knowledge of baking techniques and pastry tools
• Willingness to learn and take feedback constructively
• Team player with good time management and attention to detai
