Commis Pastry

Vikings Group of Companies is seeking a talented Commis Pastry to join our culinary team in Quezon City, Metro Manila.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, breads, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and standards
• Assist senior pastry chefs in the development and refinement of pastry products
• Measure and mix ingredients accurately using proper techniques and equipment
• Prepare fillings, glazes, frostings, and other pastry components
• Ensure all pastry items meet quality standards for taste, texture, appearance and presentation
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen and work stations
• Follow food safety and hygiene protocols consistently
• Assist with inventory management and ordering of pastry supplies as needed
• Support the pastry team during peak service periods
• Learn and apply new pastry techniques and methods to continuously improve skills

What we're looking for

• Culinary qualification or formal training in pastry and baking from a recognized culinary school or equivalent practical experience

• Demonstrable knowledge of pastry techniques, including lamination, tempering, piping and decorative work

• Strong understanding of baking science, ingredient ratios, and how different ingredients interact

• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow recipes and standards precisely

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and equipment

• Food safety certification or willingness to obtain one

• Previous experience in a professional pastry kitchen or bakery setting is preferred

• Knowledge of Filipino and international pastry traditions is advantageous
