Commis Thai Kitchen

About the role

Assists in the preparation of all hot food items in the Main Kitchen and related food pertaining to the Main Kitchen of the hotel. This outline is only a temporary basis and additional responsibilities will be added on day to day basis.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of hot foods for banqueting and outside catering as well for Island Café Buffet according to recipes and standard of the hotel
• Prepares and cooks ingredients for a proper mise en place for their respective outlet
• Proper and economical handling of all raw materials and careful cooking and portioning
• Assists in preparing all a la carte and other dishes during service hours for the outlet assigned to
• Participates in the activities of Commis in cleaning and cutting vegetables and other related preparation works
• Cleans and maintains work areas, equipment, utensils and refrigerators
• Reports to Demi Chef de Partie left-overs and spoilage
• Takes full responsible for the area if supervisor's absence
• Contribute to the morale and team spirit of the hotel by maintaining effective relationships with colleagues
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Sous Chef/Executive Sous Chef

About you

• High School plus technical or above in related field
• 1-2 years experiences in similar position
• Reasonable English language skills
• Sound organizational skills
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team of individuals
• Able to handle demanding workload
• Sound knowledge of working practices of the kitchen
• Ability to work a personal computer (desirable)
• Proven track record in hotel of similar standard in similar capacities (desirable)
• In possession of all faculties with strong resistance
