Commissary Driver

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable Commissary Driver to join our team. Our Commissary Driver is responsible for driving food prepared on-site at our Commissary, to neighboring restaurants in the Mystic area. They will assist with product organization of food and dry goods at all locations. All applicants must adhere to Department of Transportation regulations and demonstrate a strong focus on safe driving practices.

Duties

• Safely operate a box truck to deliver products from our Commissary to other locations in the Mystic area while adhering to traffic laws and route schedules
• Load and unload goods using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment with a focus on safe lifting practices
• Ensure accurate documentation of deliveries using delivery logs, including logging delivery times
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after routes to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns
• Follow all Department of Transportation regulations related to weight handling, driving hours, and safety standards during transportation activities
• Assist with restaurant operations when not on delivery routes, including moving stock, and organizing inventory

Qualifications

• Experience in delivery driving, or courier services with a focus on manual handling and heavy lifting
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating commercial trucks or box trucks preferred
• Strong knowledge of traffic regulations and Department of Transportation compliance requirements for commercial drivers
• Physical ability to lift heavy loads regularly while maintaining safety standards

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
