Start It Up. Test It. Make It Perform.

We are seeking an experienced BAS / Controls Commissioning Engineer to support the startup, testing, validation, and commissioning of complex building automation and industrial control systems.

This is a highly technical, field-focused position for someone who knows Allen-Bradley PLC platforms , understands how controls interact with mechanical and electrical systems, and can confidently troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and sequence-of-operation issues in real time.

You will work directly on active project sites to ensure PLCs, HMIs, field devices, communications networks, and system sequences perform exactly as designed before final turnover to the client.

Why Join the Team?

This is an opportunity to work on complex automation projects where your technical expertise has an immediate impact.

You will be involved in everything from initial system startup and point-to-point checkout to PLC modifications, functional testing, troubleshooting, and final client turnover.

If you enjoy solving problems in the field, working with sophisticated control systems, and seeing projects come to life, this role offers plenty of technical depth and variety.

What You’ll Get

  • $95,000–$140,000 salary range
  • Exposure to advanced BAS and industrial controls projects
  • Hands-on work with Allen-Bradley and Rockwell Automation platforms
  • Opportunities to troubleshoot and solve complex field challenges
  • Experience across mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and automation systems
  • High-impact involvement from startup through final commissioning
  • Career growth within controls, automation, and commissioning
  • Diverse project environments and technical challenges

What You’ll Do

  • Perform startup and commissioning of BAS and industrial control systems
  • Execute point-to-point system checkouts
  • Verify field device wiring and terminations
  • Calibrate environmental, mechanical, and industrial sensors
  • Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, controls, and field communication issues
  • Modify and fine-tune Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix programs
  • Work within Studio 5000 / RSLogix
  • Modify and troubleshoot FactoryTalk View HMI and SCADA graphics
  • Configure and validate communication networks and distributed I/O
  • Work with BACnet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and related protocols
  • Lead or support Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing
  • Validate HVAC, mechanical, conveyor, and operational sequences under load
  • Review electrical, MEP, and controls drawings
  • Diagnose wiring, device, logic, and network faults in the field
  • Document field modifications and update control schematics
  • Prepare as-built documentation and final turnover packages
  • Coordinate with engineers, technicians, contractors, vendors, and clients throughout commissioning

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong hands-on experience with Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley controls
  • Deep working knowledge of ControlLogix and CompactLogix platforms
  • Proficiency with Studio 5000, RSLogix, and FactoryTalk View
  • Experience commissioning PLC, HMI, and BAS systems
  • Understanding of BACnet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and industrial networking
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and HVAC systems
  • Experience with EPMS or electrical power monitoring systems preferred
  • Ability to read electrical, MEP, and controls drawings
  • Experience using multimeters and other diagnostic tools
  • Ability to troubleshoot wiring, devices, network communication, and control logic
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Automation, or a related field preferred
  • Equivalent technical field experience will also be considered
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50%–80% based on project needs

This is an excellent opportunity for a controls professional who thrives in the field, understands automation from the device level through the PLC and HMI, and enjoys solving the technical problems that stand between installation and successful system operation.

Commission the system. Solve the problem. Deliver the performance.
