Commissioning Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Commissioning Engineer to join our team, specializing in BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) EMS (Energy Management System) control systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for the commissioning, testing, and validation of control systems, including SCADA platforms, PLC programming, and network configurations. This role involves working on international projects, with a preference for Spanish-speaking candidates to facilitate communication across diverse teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation, control systems, and networking within energy storage or similar industries.

Duties

• Lead the commissioning process for BESS EMS control systems, ensuring seamless integration and operation of SCADA and PLC components.
• Perform configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of SCADA platforms and PLC programming using 61131 languages.
• Develop and validate networking configurations to ensure reliable communication between system components.
• Collaborate with project teams across different countries to ensure project specifications are met within established timelines.
• Conduct on-site inspections and commissioning activities at various international locations.
• Provide technical support during system startup, commissioning, and handover phases.
• Document commissioning procedures, test results, and system configurations accurately.
• Assist in training local operators and maintenance personnel on system operation and troubleshooting.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and project requirements throughout the commissioning process.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in commissioning control systems for energy storage or power generation projects, particularly BESS EMS systems.
• Strong knowledge of SCADA platforms and experience with PLC programming languages aligned with IEC 61131 standards.
• Familiarity with networking configurations related to industrial control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control diagrams, and system documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting complex automation issues.
• Prior international project experience is preferred; Spanish language skills are highly advantageous.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams across different countries.
• Relevant technical certifications or degrees in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related fields are desirable.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
