Electrical Commissioning Engineer – Ireland | Full-Time | Data Centres

If you're an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer with a strong background in MV/LV systems, critical power and mission-critical infrastructure , this could be an exciting opportunity to work on major data centre developments across Ireland.

We're partnering with a growing data centre business delivering large-scale digital infrastructure across the Irish market. With a strong project pipeline, they're looking to strengthen their commissioning capability with an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer who understands complex electrical systems and can support projects through testing, energisation, integrated systems testing and handover.

This is a hands-on technical role with a strong focus on electrical commissioning, critical power and operational readiness , working closely with construction teams, specialist contractors, equipment vendors and client stakeholders.

What you'll be doing

• Lead and support electrical commissioning activities across large-scale data centre projects.
• Manage testing and commissioning of MV/LV switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, generators, protection systems and electrical distribution .
• Support commissioning activities across L1–L5 , from factory testing through to integrated systems testing and final handover.
• Coordinate FAT, SAT, functional testing and Integrated Systems Testing (IST) .
• Review commissioning plans, test scripts, method statements and technical documentation.
• Work closely with electrical contractors, OEMs, commissioning agents, construction teams and client representatives.
• Identify commissioning issues, manage technical close-out and support fault resolution.
• Monitor commissioning progress against programme and ensure systems are ready for energisation and testing.
• Review test results, commissioning records and handover documentation.
• Support electrical systems through final acceptance and operational readiness.

What we're looking for

• 5–10+ years' experience within electrical engineering or electrical commissioning.
• Strong experience with MV/LV electrical infrastructure and critical power systems .
• Experience commissioning switchgear, transformers, UPS, standby generation and electrical distribution systems .
• Experience working on data centre, mission-critical, industrial or other high-load infrastructure projects .
• Strong understanding of electrical commissioning methodology and project lifecycle.
• Experience with FAT, SAT, functional testing and Integrated Systems Testing .
• Familiarity with L1–L5 data centre commissioning would be highly advantageous.
• Strong ability to work across contractors, OEMs, consultants and client teams.
• Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience delivering hyperscale or large-scale data centre projects in Ireland would be particularly valuable.
