Kohler Ronan, LLC is a leading Consulting Engineering Firm with offices in New York, NY, and Danbury, CT specializing in the design of commercial & institutional projects. The Firm is currently in search of an experienced Commissioning Engineer for our Danbury office. Join a high-energy office with a young professional environment. Work side-by-side with industry experts and leaders on projects ranging from nationally recognized cultural institutions and museums, to universities and higher education.

· Work on commissioning projects for new construction and existing building retrofits

· Review drawings, specifications, and calculations

· Assist in the preparation of commissioning specifications and basis of design documents during design phase

· Prepare pre-functional checks and functional tests

· Verify site installations are in conformance with specifications and design intent

· Review vendor start-up reports

· Review submittals

· Write daily, weekly, and final reports

· Assist in developing proposals and responses to RFP’s for commissioning opportunities

· Execute functional testing and verification of equipment and systems in the field

· Document review comments and inspection findings in issues logs

· Represent the company in a professional manner in all dealings with owners, engineers, architects, contractors, vendors, and other design professionals

· Interstate travel is periodically required

· Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited engineering program

· 2-5 years of experience with a consulting engineering firm, commissioning firm or contractor

· Familiarity with LEED Rating Systems

· Familiarity with NYC Local Laws related to energy and climate

· Understanding of common HVAC systems and emerging high-performance alternatives

· Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to work as part of a team or independently as an individual contributor with minimal supervision and in a highly collaborative team environment

· Ability to consistently set goals and meet deadlines and adapt to flexible responsibilities

· Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and work effectively as part of a project team
