Role overview

We’re hiring Electrical Commissioning Engineers to join DAMAC Digital, working across some of the region’s newest hyperscale and AI-ready data centre projects.

Commissioning is the last, critical gate before a data centre goes live. Proving that every electrical system, from MV switchgear to the smallest ELV interface, does exactly what it was designed to do, under real load and under failure.

This is an opportunity to own that process end to end, from reviewing concept design through to handover, on some of the region's newest hyperscale and AI-ready data centre builds.

What you'll be doing

• Review project documentation: design plans and specifications, Basis of Design (BOD), Owner's Project Requirements (OPR), method statements and checklists.
• Prepare Commissioning reviews spanning concept design through to handover.
• Develop detailed commissioning plans and procedures for data centre electrical systems.
• Develop and review Level 2 to Level 5 commissioning scripts and test sheets.
• Coordinate with the End User, contractors and other stakeholders to keep commissioning on track.
• Supervise and witness testing of data centre systems, including power, cooling and automation.
• Conduct performance testing to verify system efficiency and capacity, including failure-scenario testing.
• Run functional testing (electrical systems operating as intended) and integration testing (electrical systems working with other data centre systems).
• Conduct final testing and verification of electrical and ELV systems, including Integrated Systems Testing (IST), Tier Certification of Constructed Facility (TCCF) support, and Authority Inspections.
• Hand over complete, accurate documentation to Operations and the End User.

What you'll bring

• 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering, construction, commissioning and project management.
• Minimum 5 years of experience specifically in data centres.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as NETA, IEC, IEEE, and applicable local standards.
• Hands-on experience with Short Circuit Coordination Studies in MV and LV systems
• Strong problem-solving ability for complex technical issues.
• Experience leading teams and managing stakeholders.
• Uptime ATD, CDCP or CDCS certification.
