Job description:

Job Summary

The Commissioning Specialist is responsible for supporting and executing commissioning activities across multiple projects, ensuring systems and equipment are installed, tested, and operating in accordance with design requirements, project specifications, and applicable standards. The role supports the Commissioning Manager in delivering projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute commissioning activities from pre-commissioning through final acceptance.
• Review commissioning procedures, method statements, test scripts, and technical documentation.
• Witness and support FAT, SAT, functional testing, integrated system testing (IST), and performance testing.
• Coordinate commissioning activities with contractors, vendors, consultants, and project teams.
• Monitor Cx1-Cx5 commissioning progress and ensure activities are completed according to the project schedule.
• Review test results, identify deficiencies, and follow up on punch list items through closure.
• Verify equipment and system performance against design intent and project requirements.
• Prepare and maintain commissioning reports, test records, trackers, and close-out documentation.
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues during commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with project safety requirements and applicable codes and standards.

Key Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services Engineering**,** or a related technical discipline.
• Relevant experience in testing, commissioning, construction, or facilities engineering.
• Experience in data centre / mission-critical projects
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and commissioning practices.
• Experience with electrical and/or mechanical systems such as generators, UPS, switchgear, cooling systems, CDU, CRAH, pumps, and BMS/EPMS is advantageous.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of testing and commissioning processes.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, SLDs, schematics, specifications, and technical documents.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
• Able to manage multiple commissioning activities and priorities concurrently.
• Detail-oriented with good documentation and reporting skills.
• Able to work effectively with contractors, vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
• Willingness to support FAT/commissioning activities outside normal working hours when required.
• Proactive, responsible, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
