Commodity Buyer

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Commodity Buyer to support strategic sourcing, cost optimization, supplier management, and procurement compliance. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient purchasing operations while maintaining quality, cost-effectiveness, and supplier performance.

Key Responsibilities Summary

• Support supplier sourcing, evaluation, selection, and price comparison activities.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure continuous and cost-effective supply.
• Assist in cost reduction initiatives through negotiations and alternative sourcing.
• Monitor market prices, trends, and budget compliance for assigned commodities.
• Ensure adherence to procurement policies, approval processes, contracts, and documentation requirements.
• Manage and track Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs) to avoid delays and aging transactions.
• Monitor supplier performance, resolve delivery or compliance issues, and support corrective actions.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely deliveries, goods receipt posting, and PO closure.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management

• Preferably with experience in manufacturing or FMCG environment

• Strong background in:

  • Vendor negotiation
  • Purchase order processing
  • Supplier management
  • Cost analysis
