What they need
From senior leaders to village teams, residents and families, this role puts you at the centre of how Ryman communicates. As our Communications Business Partner, you'll work with senior leaders, General Managers, Village Managers and teams across the business to understand what they need to achieve, then turn priorities and change into clear, engaging communications for our people, residents and communities.
No two days are the same. You might be shaping the communications for an organisational change one day, supporting a leader's message to their team the next, and exploring new ways to tell our stories through multimedia, video and podcast content.
You'll combine sound judgement with hands-on delivery, using audience insights, data and emerging digital channels to integrate internal and external communications, strengthen engagement and reputation, and deliver measurable impact.
Thrive under leaders who champion respect and support your success
Make a meaningful difference in what you do
Shape your future with us - a place where every day is an opportunity to excel
About Ryman
Ryman is a leader in retirement living and care, employing over 7,700 people in New Zealand and Australia across a wide range of areas, including nursing, village operations, sales, technology, design, and corporate roles.
At Ryman, exceptional care is thoughtfully delivered every day. From meals and activities to maintenance and support, our teams work together so residents can feel confident everything is taken care of – because behind that promise is the standard we’ve always held ourselves to: it’s got to be good enough for mum and dad.
We’re in a period of real transformation, focussing on stronger commercial outcomes, smarter ways of working, and continuing to set the standard in retirement living and aged care.
If you share those values and you're looking for a career where your work truly makes a difference, we'd love to hear from you.
What will you do?
We're looking for an experienced Communications Business Partner to join our Communications team and help bring our stories, priorities, and initiatives to life across Ryman Healthcare.
This is a varied and hands-on role where you'll partner with stakeholders across the business to provide communications advice, develop communication plans, create engaging content, and support key organisational initiatives. From internal communications and change projects to social media, community engagement and reputation management, you'll play an important role in helping our teams, residents and communities stay informed and connected.
Other key responsibilities include:
Providing strategic communications advice and support across the business
Developing and delivering communication plans that support business priorities, projects and organisational change initiatives
Creating clear, compelling content for a range of audiences and channels
Supporting leadership communications and employee engagement initiatives
Developing content across digital and social channels including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok
Monitoring engagement, analysing communication performance and using insights to improve effectiveness
Supporting community engagement, stakeholder communications and reputation-building activities
Assisting with sensitive communications when required
What’s in it for you?
This is an exciting opportunity to work across a wide range of communications activities and make a real impact in an organisation with a clear purpose. No two days are the same, and you'll have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that support our people, residents and communities.
In addition, a career at Ryman offers:
Opportunity to add to your professional skills
Additional wellbeing leave and flexible working arrangements
Access to over 60 discounts with well-known brands across a variety of sectors including; health and wellbeing, banking, insurance, and retail
Social club events, furry Friday’s (bring your dog to work)
Convenient Ryman owned onsite café (Pioneers Café) with affordable pricing
Who are you?
You are tech-savvy, data-driven and future-facing, with expertise in - or a strong passion for - AI enablement and the integration of digital tools across internal and external communications
You'll have experience working in communications, public relations, marketing communications or a similar advisory role
You're an exceptional writer who can adapt messages for different audiences and communication channels
You have strong stakeholder management skills and can quickly build trusted relationships across all levels of an organisation
You think strategically and are not afraid to roll your sleeves up and get down to the practical work too
You value people and kindness and are passionate about delivering results
You strive for excellence and look for ways to exceed expectations. You can deliver with confidence in a fast-paced environment
You believe in the value of strong, positive, trusting teams who work together as one
You are resilient and can demonstrate composure under pressure
You value communication that is simple, clear and straight to the point
At Ryman, digital confidence and commercial awareness are expectations we hold across every role. We are looking for people who are comfortable using data, reporting tools, and digital systems to inform decisions, understand how their work contributes to business outcomes, and embrace new ways of working. Curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to grow your capability are key as our business continues to evolve.
We support an environment where everyone feels welcome to be themselves. We embrace diversity and celebrate individual uniqueness, encouraging anyone wanting to work for Ryman to apply for our vacant positions.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received and interviews may take place prior to the close date. This means a job ad may close before the advertised close date.
