Communications Consultant

About the role

Consultant role in communications, supporting business leadership, strategic planning, and client relationships. The position involves developing confidence and ability to lead accounts and projects with supervision, building media and stakeholder relationships, and creating high-quality content.

Key responsibilities

• Support management to achieve company goals and provide guidance to junior team members
• Provide communications support to clients and contribute to strategic counsel and planning
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, including senior level relationships, and deputise for Senior Consultants
• Take ownership of tasks and apply knowledge and expertise to deliver exceptional client service
• Work to expand and maintain strong media relationships, develop engaging media pitches, and place stories with reporters
• Create high-quality and distinctive content with minimal supervision and amendments
• Identify new business opportunities and construct proposals including content and logistics
• Produce insightful and analytical research to prepare senior team for new business meetings, pitches and presentations
• Take increasing responsibility for managing work streams and implementing client programmes
• Supervise media monitoring and cover for Executives

About you

• Typically 3+ years of experience in communications or a related industry or area
• A growing network of media and stakeholder contacts
• Excellent news sense and writing skills
• The skills and confidence to develop and maintain professional relationships
• Developing ability to think and plan strategically
• Creative and innovative in approach
