Communications Consultant

About the role

As a Communications Consultant, you'll produce high-quality communications and manage the day-to-day delivery of projects. You'll become a trusted point of contact for clients, understanding their priorities, identifying opportunities and keeping projects moving. No two days will be quite the same. You'll contribute to work across media relations, issues management, content development and integrated communications campaigns, as well as SEO, email marketing and Google Ads. Alongside regular monthly responsibilities, you'll work on new projects, emerging opportunities and issues management, requiring a thoughtful and timely response.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day communications with selected clients and develop strong, trusted working relationships
• Lead regular client meetings, prepare agendas and ensure agreed actions are completed
• Turn client requests and business objectives into clear, practical briefs
• Manage timelines, priorities and deliverables across multiple accounts
• Coordinate projects with Balliang colleagues, designers, digital specialists and other external partners
• Write engaging newsletters, website content, articles, case studies and campaign materials for consumer, staff and industry audiences
• Research topics and interview clients, stakeholders and subject-matter experts to uncover strong stories
• Translate technical or complex information into clear, accessible content
• Build, test and distribute email campaigns and newsletters
• Update website content and work confidently within content management systems

About you

• About two to four years of relevant communications, public relations, journalism or digital marketing experience

• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work

• Experience managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines

• Confidence communicating directly with clients, colleagues and stakeholders

• The ability to manage projects from initial brief through to delivery

• Experience using an email marketing platform and website content management system

• The confidence to learn new platforms, industries and subject matter quickly

• A collaborative approach and a willingness to contribute ideas
