Communications, Intern

Summary: The Communications and Corporate Relations Intern supports the planning and execution of the organization’s communication strategy.

Essential Functions:

• Support in the execution of communication strategies for key audiences; tactics to include:

o Development of blog posts and advertorial content

o Participation in community outreach events

o Development of content for earned media

o Content development for consumer and internal websites

o Assisting in the coordination and executive of Community Outreach events

o Social media strategy planning, content development, and posting

o Participating in reporting meetings with internal partners and digital advertising agency

o Compiling media campaign and social media analytics for monthly reporting

Competencies:

• Possess the ability to write with clarity, confidence, and in a professional tone.

• Graphic design or video editing skills a plus but not required.

• Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team

• Excellent attention to detail

• Self-motivated and task-oriented

• Excellent grammar, typing and computer skills

Education & Experience:

• Currently pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or another related field.

Physical Demands:

must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job

Working Conditions:

General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing

and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting

and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by

noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office

equipment available
