Communications Manager

Every school has stories worth sharing.

At St. James Catholic School, those stories happen every day—in the classroom, at school events, through student accomplishments, and in the relationships built among students, families, faculty, and the wider community.

We're looking for a Communications Manager who can help us tell those stories clearly and consistently.

Where you'll make a difference

You'll help families stay informed about what's happening at school while also helping prospective families and the community understand what makes St. James special.

Your work may include:

• Planning and managing school communications throughout the year
• Writing announcements, newsletters, emails, and other family communications
• Managing website content and keeping information current
• Creating and scheduling social media content
• Sharing student, faculty, classroom, and school-community stories
• Supporting communications for admissions, enrollment, fundraising, and school events
• Developing flyers, presentations, digital materials, and other communications
• Maintaining a consistent voice and look across school materials
• Taking or coordinating photos and other content from school activities
• Working with faculty and staff to gather information and meet communication deadlines
• Responding to communication needs that come up during the school year
• Helping strengthen the school's visibility within the local community

Who we're hoping to find

You don't necessarily need to come from another school.

We're interested in candidates with experience in communications, marketing, public relations, social media, nonprofit communications, community engagement, or similar work.

Strong writing matters. So does good judgment.

You'll often be communicating with parents, faculty, prospective families, and community members, so we're looking for someone who knows how to make information clear, thoughtful, and appropriate for the audience.

Experience with social media, websites, email platforms, and basic design tools is helpful.

A bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related field is preferred, although relevant professional experience will also be considered.

The right person will understand how to celebrate what's happening at St. James while making sure families have the information they need and the school's communications reflect its Catholic identity, values, and community.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
