The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Communications Manager to lead the development and delivery of strategic internal and external communications for a leading organisation.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Communications, you will play a key role in shaping messaging, enhancing corporate reputation and supporting business strategy and organisational change. Alongside delivering high quality communications, you will provide line management, coaching and development to team members, ensuring the effective delivery of communications activity.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver strategic internal and external communications plans aligned with business objectives.
• Advise and support senior leaders on messaging, stakeholder engagement and communications strategy.
• Create compelling content, including articles, newsletters, presentations, speeches, press releases and key messaging documents.
• Manage editorial planning, intranet content and digital communications activity, including social media.
• Oversee media enquiries and liaise with external PR and marketing agencies.
• Measure communications effectiveness, using insights and reporting to drive continuous improvement.
• Line manage and develop team members, setting objectives, managing performance, coaching and prioritising workloads.
• Support organisational change and ensure communications align with company values and regulatory requirements.

About you

• Proven experience in a strategic communications role, delivering internal and external communications.
• Previous line management experience, including coaching and developing team members.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong editorial judgement and attention to detail.
• Experience advising senior stakeholders and managing competing priorities.
• Strong knowledge of communications planning, content management and stakeholder engagement.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint.

Desirable: Experience in insurance, London Market or Financial Services, and experience producing video or audio content for digital channels.
