Communications Manager

ŌCHT is the South Island’s largest community housing provider, managing around 2,500 homes.

Reporting to the Director Quality Risk & Performance, this role has a strong internal communications focus. You will work closely with senior leaders to translate strategy, organisational decisions, change and complex information into clear, timely and engaging communications. You will lead the forward communications programme, strengthen two-way communication and ensure employees understand what is happening, why it matters and how they contribute.

You will also oversee media and reputation management, external communications, brand, digital channels, corporate publications and stakeholder communications.

What you’ll bring

You will be an experienced communications professional who combines strategic thinking with strong delivery. You will be confident advising senior leaders, managing sensitive issues and creating communications that connect with different audiences.

You will bring:

• A relevant degree in communications, journalism or a related field, or equivalent senior-level experience.
• Three to five years’ experience leading internal communications in a complex organisation, including change communications.
• The ability to translate strategy and complex information into clear, audience-centred communications.
• Highly developed content design, writing and editing capability.
• Strong relationship management, influencing and organisational skills.

Experience in community housing, public service or another purpose-led organisation would be an advantage.
