Duties

• Manage social media platforms through content creation, scheduling, and engagement to enhance online presence and community interaction.
• Cultivate relationships with media outlets and journalists to secure coverage and promote positive publicity.
• Coordinate public speaking engagements, presentations, and media interviews to effectively convey key messages.
• Conduct research to inform communication campaigns and monitor media coverage for insights and opportunities.
• Oversee website management by updating content and ensuring consistent branding across digital channels.
• Design basic graphics or collaborate with graphic designers to produce visual content that complements written materials.
• Prepare strategic communications for internal initiatives or crises to ensure clear messaging and stakeholder understanding.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working in professional communications, public relations, or journalism roles with a strong portfolio of writing samples.
• Exceptional writing skills with proficiency in AP style and editing techniques.
• Strong research skills to gather accurate information for content development.
• Excellent verbal communication skills suitable for public speaking engagements and media interactions.
• Experience managing social media platforms including content marketing strategies and analytics tools.
• Knowledge of media relations practices and experience securing press coverage.
• Familiarity with website management tools and basic graphic design software is a plus.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
