Communication Systems Engineer (Field Based) Location: North Dublin

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: €50,000 DOE + On-Call Allowance

Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Communication Systems Engineer to join their engineering team and support critical communication infrastructure across Ireland.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for communication systems and associated infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, server, and networking issues.
• Support the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of communication systems.
• Assist with server builds, software deployments, and system upgrades.
• Provide remote and on-site technical support to customers.
• Support PBX, VoIP, and telecommunications systems.
• Carry out network troubleshooting across LAN, WAN, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, switches, and routers.
• Participate in an out-of-hours support rota.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and service records.
• Ensure high standards of customer service, quality, and safety are maintained.

The Ideal Candidate

• Third-level qualification in Engineering, IT, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a technical support, field engineering, network engineering, or telecommunications role.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Windows Server environments.
• Experience working with Linux systems (Ubuntu, Debian, Red Hat, or CentOS).
• Exposure to Bash or Shell scripting.
• Experience supporting servers, networking infrastructure, and communication systems.
• Knowledge of SQL Server and database administration.
• Experience with PBX, VoIP and telecommunications systems.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
• Full clean Irish driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
