Communications Technician

Betts Telecom is looking for a dependable, experienced Communications Technician to join our team. We are seeking someone who takes pride in their work, works well with a crew, and can complete commercial communications installations safely and professionally.

Job Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot Cat6/Cat6A cabling
• Install and terminate fiber-optic cabling
• Install communications outlets, jacks, patch panels, racks, and related equipment
• Install cabling for data, voice, cameras, access control, and other low-voltage systems
• Perform cable testing, labeling, and documentation
• Read and understand construction drawings, plans, and specifications
• Route and support cable above ceilings and in commercial environments
• Maintain clean, organized IDF/MDF rooms
• Operate lifts and ladders safely
• Coordinate with supervisors, other trades, and project personnel
• Maintain a clean and safe work area

Qualifications

• Communications, structured cabling, low-voltage, or telecommunications experience preferred
• Cat6 termination and testing experience preferred
• Fiber experience is a plus
• Ability to read construction drawings is a plus
• Must be dependable and able to work independently when required
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs. and work from ladders/lifts
• Must follow company and jobsite safety requirements
• Willingness to travel when required
