What they need

Community Coach – Cross Programmes

This Community Coach – Cross Programmes role is an opportunity to make a difference across a wide range of City in the Community programmes. Working with children, young people and communities across Manchester, you will provide flexible, high-quality delivery wherever it is needed most.

Who We Are

Established in 1986, City in the Community is Manchester City’s official charity. We support people across Manchester by empowering healthier lives through football. Our programmes place physical and mental wellbeing at their core, whilst also creating healthy futures and healthy communities.

Across our Education and Community programmes, we use sport, education and positive engagement to support people of different ages, backgrounds and abilities. From schools and education settings to community-based programmes, our teams work across Greater Manchester to create inclusive experiences that help participants develop, achieve and thrive.

The Role

You will provide flexible delivery support across a range of City in the Community programmes, helping to maintain high-quality provision during periods of staff absence or increased delivery demand.

Day to day, you could be delivering across programmes including Early Years, Primary Stars, Inspires, BTEC and Outreach. You will work closely with programme Officers to plan and deliver engaging, inclusive and safe sessions that meet the needs of different participants and programme objectives.

Alongside delivery, you will build positive relationships with participants, schools and community partners, support the monitoring of attendance and programme outcomes, and ensure safeguarding and organisational policies are consistently embedded across your work.

What You'll Bring

⚽ A minimum NGB Level 2 Coaching qualification in a relevant sport (excluding dodgeball).

⚽ Experience working with children, young people or different groups within the community.

⚽ Experience planning and delivering high-quality, inclusive coaching or education sessions.

⚽ The flexibility and confidence to adapt quickly across different programmes, participants and delivery environments.

⚽ Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage delivery and administration across multiple projects.

⚽ A full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.

Why Choose Us

Guided by our values of being caring, inclusive, transformative and youth-led, we are committed to creating an environment where our team feel supported, valued and able to make a meaningful difference through the work they do every day.

As part of our team, you will receive 26 days’ annual leave plus a day off for your birthday and an annual discretionary bonus. You will also have access to a Health Cash Plan, Employee Assistance Programme with 24/7 GP support, and a company pension and life assurance.

You can enjoy a range of additional benefits, including discounted match tickets, savings in the City Store, a free City+ subscription, stadium tour discounts, and wider retail and lifestyle offers.
