Assisting with the promotion of community events, programs and initiatives through the Shire's communication channels;
Managing project and program budgets and maintaining accurate records; and
Providing general support across the Shire's community development activities as required.
About You
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and isn't afraid to get involved. You'll be organised enough to manage budgets, grants and reporting, creative enough to help develop new initiatives, and practical enough to turn plans into action.
The successful applicant will ideally demonstrate:
- Previous experience in community development, events, local government, project coordination, administration or another relevant field;
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities;
- Experience coordinating events, programs or community-based projects;
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare correspondence, reports and funding applications;
- Sound financial administration and budget management skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with a diverse range of people;
- Confidence engaging with community groups, government agencies, businesses and other stakeholders;
- Initiative, creativity and a practical approach to problem solving;
- Sound computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications;
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small team; and
- A current C Class Driver's Licence.
Previous experience in local government, community development, grant funding or event coordination will be highly regarded but is not essential.
