Overview

We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Community Host to join our team and help create an engaging, safe, and inclusive space for all visitors. As a Community Host, you will be the welcoming face of Grotto Social Baths, ensuring smooth operations while fostering a positive environment that encourages community connection. This role involves overseeing safety protocols, assisting guests with their experience, and supporting diverse populations including those with behavioral health needs or experiencing homelessness. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help us build a memorable wellness community rooted in respect and care.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide information about amenities and services
• Monitor the facility to ensure safety, security, and adherence to policies
• Assist with intake procedures, including data collection and client communication
• Support behavioral health needs by de-escalating conflicts and managing crisis situations using de-escalation techniques
• Maintain resident confidentiality while handling sensitive information discreetly
• Conduct manual handling tasks such as assisting guests with mobility or safety concerns
• Collaborate with team members on case management efforts for high-risk populations or individuals experiencing homelessness
• Support medication administration or first aid as needed, following proper protocols
• Foster an inclusive environment by working effectively with culturally diverse communities and underserved populations
• Document incidents, maintain filing systems, and ensure accurate data collection using Microsoft Office tools
• Assist with behavioral health or addiction counseling referrals when appropriate
• Support security measures through conflict management and de-escalation techniques

Qualifications

• Supervising experience in community settings or related fields preferred
• Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, mental health conditions, or behavioral health needs
• Knowledge of crisis intervention, conflict management, and de-escalation techniques
• Strong communication skills—both verbal and written—capable of engaging diverse populations effectively
• Experience working with youth, families, or culturally diverse communities in high-risk environments
• Familiarity with social work practices, case management, intake procedures, and client confidentiality standards
• Ability to handle manual tasks safely; CPR and first aid certifications are highly desirable
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and data collection purposes
• Knowledge of home & community care practices; LIHTC experience is a plus
• Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or from underserved communities is highly valued
