What they need

About Newton School of Technology:

Newton School of Technology (NST) is a new-age institution redefining technical education in India. Founded by IIT alumni, NST offers a 4-year B.Tech in Computer Science and AI, focused on hands-on learning and deep industry integration. Within two years, over 93% of students have secured paid internships with companies like Razorpay, SarvamAI, and DRDO, along with global exposure through tech treks to Singapore and Silicon Valley. Led by a distinguished faculty comprising ICPC World Finalists and ex-professionals from ISRO, Microsoft, MakeMyTrip, and several other leading tech organizations, NST is building a scalable, high-impact model that produces industry-ready talent for the world's most advanced technology roles.

About the role

The Community Manager owns the full community charter for their campus. This is a leadership role responsible for designing, executing, and continuously improving the student experience - from orientation through graduation. The CM leads the campus team and collaborates closely with other campus leads.

  • Manage and mentor student leads across clubs and community workstreams
  • Lead new student orientation, managing the full experience for incoming batches
  • Drive student achievement recognition through management and policy-level execution of the Student Grant
  • Track, collect, and publish student wins — sole campus owner of this record
  • University stakeholder management is vital

Clubs & Ecosystem

  • Build and manage the student clubs ecosystem with the Student Body
  • Support student leads in running clubs with consistency and quality

Events & Programmes

  • Plan and execute masterclasses and guest lectures with a practical, industry-relevant approach
  • Lead techfest planning and delivery in collaboration with the student body
  • Oversee cultural events, student-led activities, and campus celebrations
  • Manage Student Houses and house competitions — tech and cultural
  • Run peer learning sessions, workshops, hackathons, and curiosity-building activities
  • Enable student participation in external college fest competitions

Exposure & Competitions

  • Identify international and domestic competitions, conferences, and forums relevant to NST students
  • Build a pipeline, ensuring students actively apply and represent NST to prestigious competitions
  • Continuously discover and create new exposure opportunities for students beyond defined academics

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with university administration, faculty, and leadership — acting as the primary point of contact for all community and student experience matters on campus
  • Navigate institutional processes, approvals, and campus-specific requirements to ensure smooth programme delivery
  • Coordinate closely with Campus Community Managers across all NST campuses to align on shared initiatives, share learnings, and maintain consistency in student experience standards
  • Work in active collaboration with the Central HQ team on centrally-driven programmes, immersions, industry initiatives, and cross-campus projects — ensuring the campus contributes to and benefits from the broader NST community ecosystem

What we're looking for

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams independently
  • Strong student-facing communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience in community, events, or program management roles
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, startup-like environment
  • Genuine interest in building student community culture from the ground up
