What they need
Our Promise Inc.
1099 Position | $1,600 Monthly | Paid Biweekly
Our Promise Inc. is looking for a dependable and flexible Community Operations Assistant to work closely with the owner and help with different needs throughout the week. This is an entry-level position, so you do not need years of experience. We are looking more for someone who is responsible, communicates well, shows up when they say they will, is willing to learn, and can get things done without having to be constantly reminded. This is also not a position where you will do the exact same thing every day. We are a growing behavioral health agency, so your assignments will depend on what needs to be done that week.
You must have availability Monday through Saturday, but starting out, you will not be assigned to work more than 4 days per week. Your assignments will normally be given one week in advance, along with the date they need to be completed. The exception will be when you first start, since there may be things that need to be completed during your first week.
You will be expected to:
- Let the owner know which days you are available.
- When you receive an assignment, communicate when you plan to complete it.
- Complete assignments by the due date.
- Communicate if there is a problem instead of waiting until the deadline has passed.
- Be flexible because your schedule and assignments may look different each week.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Facilitate a meeting that has already been prepared for you.
- Attend meetings or community events on behalf of Our Promise Inc.
- Go with the owner to meetings, events, or other business-related places.
- Drive the owner to meetings when transportation is needed.
- Transport clients to or from shelters and other approved locations.
- Record videos or community content for our business Facebook page.
- Help recruit new staff or members for services.
- Make outreach calls to community organizations.
- Help with basic HR duties and employee onboarding.
- Search for apartments, houses, properties, or other community resources.
- Help complete assigned documentation for caseloads.
- Help prepare for orientations, meetings, trainings, and events.
- Complete office and administrative tasks.
- Work with or around children, teenagers, and adults.
- Help with other day-to-day needs of the agency as assigned.
Some assignments can be completed from home, while others will require you to be in the office or out in the community.
Our Promise Inc. works with children, teens, adults, and families. The people we serve may be dealing with:
- Mental health concerns
- Substance use
- Intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD)
- Traumatic brain injuries (TBI)
- Homelessness or housing instability
- Employment barriers
- Other difficult life circumstances
You need to be comfortable working around different populations without judging people based on their situation.
You may be a good fit if you are someone who:
- Is dependable and on time.
- Has good communication skills.
- Can follow directions.
- Is comfortable talking to people.
- Can work independently.
- Doesn't need to be reminded repeatedly to complete an assignment.
- Is organized enough to keep up with deadlines.
- Is comfortable driving and working in the community.
- Can keep client and company information private.
- Is willing to learn.
- Can be professional when representing Our Promise Inc.
- Understands that flexibility is important in a growing company.
- Can make Our Promise Inc. a priority on the days you commit to working.
Basic Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Comfortable driving when needed
- Basic computer and smartphone skills
- Able to use email and Google applications
- Good written and verbal communication
- Able to pass required background checks
- Able to maintain confidentiality
Previous experience in behavioral health, healthcare, social services, HR, administration, transportation, recruiting, or community work is helpful, but it is not required. We are willing to work with the right person who is serious about learning and growing with the company.
Starting pay is $1,600 per month, paid biweekly. This is a 1099 position, so taxes are not taken out of your pay. When you are assigned to provide transportation for company business, gas will be provided/reimbursed for the approved transportation.
We don't want someone who is only looking for something temporary. We would like to find someone who can learn the company, become dependable, and grow into a much larger role. After 6 months, your performance will be reviewed. If you are doing well, dependable, meeting deadlines, communicating, completing your assignments correctly, and showing that you can handle more responsibility, the position can increase to $3,200 per month. At that point, the position will also increase to 6 days per week because you will have more responsibility within the company.
Please understand that this job requires flexibility.
You may be recording a video one day, helping with paperwork another day, attending a community meeting, helping recruit staff, looking for housing, transporting someone, or helping the owner handle something that needs to get done. We are not expecting you to already know how to do everything. We can teach you. What we do expect is for you to communicate, show up, learn, meet your deadlines, and take the position seriously. If you're looking for an entry-level opportunity where you can learn different parts of a growing behavioral health company and potentially move into a much larger role, we encourage you to apply.
