Community Relations Officer

We’re hiring a Community Relations Officer for an organisation in Cross River State.

📍 Location: Cross River State

🇳🇬 Candidates from anywhere in Nigeria can apply

📌 Priority will be given to candidates currently based in Cross River and neighbouring regions.

What you'll be doing:

→ Building and maintaining strong relationships with host communities

→ Engaging community leaders, residents and other local stakeholders

→ Serving as a key link between the organisation and surrounding communities

→ Organising community meetings, consultations and engagement activities

→ Identifying community concerns and escalating issues appropriately

→ Supporting community development initiatives and programmes

→ Managing communication between communities and internal teams

→ Supporting conflict prevention and resolution

→ Monitoring community feedback and preparing reports

→ Coordinating community visits and stakeholder activities

→ Maintaining positive relationships with local authorities and community representatives

→ Representing the organisation professionally within host communities

What you'll need:

→ Bachelor's degree/HND in Social Sciences, Community Development, Public Relations, Sociology, Development Studies or related field

→ Relevant experience in community relations, stakeholder engagement, community development, NGO or related roles

→ Strong knowledge of community engagement principles

→ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

→ Strong negotiation, conflict-resolution and relationship-management abilities

→ Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds

→ Strong knowledge of the local environment is an advantage

→ Willingness to work in the field and engage directly with communities
