Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu (on-site plant role)

Employment: Full-time trainee position

Eligibility: Fresh B.E. graduates in ECE, EEE or Mechanical Engineering.

Job responsibilities

• Assist in daily production and manufacturing activities.

• Monitor production processes and ensure smooth operation.

• Operate and monitor machines after proper training and as per work instructions.

• Check product quality and report defects to the supervisor.

• Maintain production records and daily reports.

• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Stores and Production teams.

• Support production targets and minimize production downtime.

• Follow SOPs, company 5S, safety, quality and production standards.

• Participate in continuous improvement activities.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of manufacturing and production processes.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Basic computer knowledge.

• Willingness to work in shifts.

• Problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, PPE and Quality Control is an advantage.

5S and workplace management

Follow 5S principles. Maintain cleanliness and proper arrangement of tools and materials. Ensure proper identification and storage of materials. Participate in 5S audits and support workplace improvement activities.

Machine and process monitoring

Monitor machine parameters and operating conditions. Follow machine setup and changeover procedures. Report machine breakdowns to Maintenance. Minimize machine idle time and production downtime. Follow preventive and autonomous maintenance practices where applicable.

Continuous improvement

Participate in Kaizen activities. Identify opportunities to improve productivity. Support reduction of material wastage. Suggest improvements in production methods. Support cost-reduction and productivity-improvement projects. Participate in root cause analysis and corrective-action activities.

Quality control

Follow company quality standards and inspection procedures. Perform basic quality checks during production. Identify and segregate defective or non-conforming products and inform the Quality Team. Follow Poka-Yoke, 4M, 5 Why and basic problem-solving techniques. Support reduction of rejection, rework and customer complaints.

Safety

Follow plant safety rules and procedures. Use appropriate PPE such as safety shoes, helmet, gloves and goggles. Report unsafe conditions and near-miss incidents. Follow machine safety and emergency procedures. Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
