Compensation & Classification Analyst

Compensation & Classification Analyst | Part-Time in North Carolina

20–30 hours per week | Local Government

We’re partnering with a local municipality seeking a Compensation & Classification Analyst to support an organization-wide review and reclassification of positions, alongside day-to-day compensation reviews.

What you’ll do:

• Review job descriptions, responsibilities, and position classifications.

• Conduct salary benchmarking and market analysis.

• Recommend appropriate classifications and pay levels.

• Support internal equity reviews and ongoing compensation requests.

• Partner with HR and department leaders throughout the reclassification process.

What we’re looking for:

• Experience in compensation analysis, job evaluation, and position classification.

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate findings into clear recommendations.

• Experience in local government or the public sector is highly desirable.
