Competitions Manager

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Competitions Manager to join the Philippine Football Federation. This is a full-time position based in Carmona, Cavite. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of football competitions across the federation, ensuring smooth operations, regulatory compliance, and the highest standards of competition delivery. This position is integral to the federation's mission of promoting and developing football excellence throughout the Philippines.

What you'll be doing

As Competitions Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

• Planning, coordinating and overseeing all federation-sanctioned football competitions, from grassroots level through to senior national tournaments
• Developing and implementing competition schedules, formats and regulations in alignment with international football standards and federation policies
• Managing competition budgets and ensuring efficient resource allocation across all tournament operations
• Liaising with clubs, teams, referees, venues and other stakeholders to ensure seamless competition delivery
• Maintaining accurate competition records, statistics and documentation for all tournaments
• Ensuring compliance with FIFA regulations and the federation's competition rules and disciplinary procedures
• Coordinating with marketing and communications teams to promote competitions and enhance fan engagement
• Addressing competition-related disputes and implementing fair resolution processes
• Monitoring competition integrity and implementing anti-corruption measures
• Reporting on competition performance metrics and outcomes to senior management
• Identifying opportunities for competition expansion and improvement based on stakeholder feedback

What we're looking for

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in sports competition management
• Minimum 5 years of experience in managing sports competitions or sports event coordination, preferably within football or a similar team sport
• Strong knowledge of FIFA competition regulations and international football governance standards
• Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple competitions simultaneously
• Proficiency in competition management software and database systems
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities, with the capacity to work effectively with diverse teams and organisations
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, particularly regarding schedules, regulations and compliance
• Proven problem-solving capabilities and the ability to make decisions under pressure
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant digital tools
• Knowledge of the Philippine football landscape and domestic club structure is advantageous
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Filipino is preferred
