Competitive Programming Instructor (ICPC / Codeforces / LeetCode Level) – Live Online

Modern Age Coders is a live online coding and mathematics education platform based in Kolkata, teaching students across 15+ countries. We’re building a serious Competitive Programming track for students aiming at ICPC, Codeforces, CodeChef, LeetCode contests and olympiad-level problem solving, and we need an instructor who can make hard ideas click.

What You’ll Teach

• Core and advanced data structures: segment trees, Fenwick trees, sparse tables, DSU, tries, heaps, monotonic stacks/queues
• Algorithms: greedy, binary search on answer, two pointers, prefix sums, bit manipulation
• Dynamic programming at depth: knapsack variants, bitmask DP, digit DP, DP on trees, DP optimisations
• Graphs: BFS/DFS, shortest paths, MST, topological sort, SCCs, LCA, flows (for advanced batches)
• Number theory and combinatorics for CP: modular arithmetic, sieve, nCr, inclusion–exclusion
• Strings: hashing, KMP, Z-function
• Contest strategy: reading problems, spotting patterns, debugging under time pressure, upsolving, and building a practice plan

The Kind of Instructor We Want
We don’t want someone who reads out solutions. We want a teacher who:

• Explains why an approach works, not just what the code is, and builds intuition from first principles before jumping to templates
• Is energetic and engaging, so classes feel like solving puzzles together rather than a lecture
• Reads the student: notices when they’re lost, changes the explanation, and checks real understanding instead of accepting “yes sir, understood”
• Lets students struggle productively with hints, rather than handing over the answer
• Can teach beginners stepping into CP as well as push strong students towards ICPC-level thinking
• Is honest, patient, punctual and genuinely invested in student progress

Requirements

• Strong personal competitive programming background (Codeforces Specialist/Expert or above, CodeChef 4★+, ICPC regional participation, or equivalent; please share your profile links)
• Fluent in C++ (Python/Java a plus)
• Clear spoken English
• Stable internet, a good mic and a laptop with screen-sharing and a digital pen/whiteboard setup
• Prior teaching or mentoring experience preferred, but strong teaching ability matters more than years of experience

Schedule
Live 1:1 and small-group classes. Timings (morning or night IST) depend on student time zones. Flexible hours, with more classes assigned as quality and student feedback stay strong.

How to Apply (applications without these will not be considered)

• Record a 10–15 minute teaching video explaining any one CP concept or problem, for example “Why binary search on answer works” or a DP problem from Codeforces. Teach it as if to a real student.
• Upload it to Google Drive with public link access turned on.
• Send the link through Indeed chat along with your Codeforces/CodeChef/LeetCode profile links.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a live demo class and a problem-solving round

Pay: ₹400.00 - ₹500.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
