Completion Advisor

1)     Job Summary

The Completion Advisor serves as a senior subject matter expert providing strategic technical guidance, engineering assurance, and specialist advisory support for complex well completion projects. The role reviews completion philosophies, validates engineering solutions, mentors engineers, supports business development activities, and represents the company in high-level technical discussions while focusing on technical excellence, innovation, and governance rather than direct operational supervision.

2)     Key Responsibilities

Technical Advisory

• Review complex completion designs, validate engineering calculations, recommend completion strategies, advise on technology selection, support HPHT and high-risk well planning, and participate in peer reviews.

Technical Governance

• Develop engineering standards, review procedures, support technical audits, lead lessons-learned workshops, and drive technology improvement initiatives.

Client & Business Support

• Participate in client meetings, support tender preparation, review technical proposals, assist contract negotiations, and represent the company at industry forums.

Mentoring & Knowledge Management

• Coach engineers and supervisors, develop competency frameworks, deliver technical training, and promote knowledge sharing.

3)     Authorities

• Recommend approval or rejection of complex completion designs.
• Endorse technical standards and engineering practices.
• Recommend technology adoption.
• Escalate technical risks directly to senior management.
• Participate in technical qualification of contractors and vendors.

4)     Qualifications & Requirements

• Education  : Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering or related engineering discipline (Master's Degree preferred).
• Experience :  Minimum 20 years in well engineering, including at least 15 years in completion engineering,   experience advising major offshore projects, and proven mentoring and technical leadership capabilities. International operator or major service company experience is preferred.
• Languages : Able to write and communicate in Bahasa Malaysia and English.

Technical Knowledge:

• Knowledge in Advanced completion design, well lifecycle planning, risk-based engineering, engineering peer review, technology evaluation, cost optimization, digital engineering tools, technical report writing, and industry standards interpretation.
