Completion Engineer

1) Job Summary

The Completion Engineer supports the planning, engineering design, execution, monitoring, and optimization of well completion operations. The role prepares technical programs, performs engineering analyses, supports offshore completion supervisors, and ensures completion activities comply with company standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements.

2) Key Responsibilities

Engineering Planning

• Prepare completion programs.
• Prepare completion fluid schedules.
• Develop tubing and packer specifications.
• Prepare equipment lists.
• Develop operational procedures.

Engineering Analysis

• Tubing design calculations.
• Pressure analysis.
• Completion fluid calculations.
• Barrier verification.
• Well acceptance analysis.
• Production optimization support.

Operational Support

• Support offshore completion operations.
• Review daily completion reports.
• Track completion KPIs.
• Monitor contractor performance.
• Assist with troubleshooting.

Documentation

• Completion reports.
• Technical specifications.
• Well files.
• Lessons learned.
• Engineering calculations.

3) Authorities

• Recommend engineering changes.
• Request technical data.
• Review contractor documentation.
• Escalate engineering risks.
• Recommend operational improvements.

4)  Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in completion engineering, Offshore completion support, Engineering calculations, Contractor coordination. Preferred in Intelligent completions and HPHT wells.
• Certifications: IWCF Level 4 (preferred), BOSIET/FOET with CA-EBS, H2S Safety, Offshore Medical Certificate, Permit to Work, Risk Assessment.
• Language: Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken).
• Technical Skills: Completion Design Software, Well Plan, Pressure Analysis, Tubing Design, SAP, Excel, Power BI

5) Preferred Skills and Competencies,

• The role requires competence in Completion Engineering, Well Integrity, Pressure Control, Completion Fluids, Tubing Design, Sand Control, Engineering Calculations, Technical Reporting.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
