What they need

Interoceanic Corporation (IOC) is a diversified group of businesses spanning industrial chemicals, fertilizers, logistics, lawn and garden products, ice melt, and private investments. We combine established industry experience with an entrepreneurial approach to business growth. Employees work across different companies and functions and have opportunities to contribute beyond a narrow job description.

Position Overview

IOC is seeking an inquisitive, analytical, and motivated Compliance & Risk Analyst to help build and strengthen our corporate compliance function. This newly created position offers exposure to customer and vendor due diligence, credit analysis, financial monitoring, regulatory compliance, and commercial agreements. Rather than focusing on one narrow responsibility, you will learn how a diversified business operates and how commercial decisions are made. We are looking for someone who enjoys investigating information, spotting inconsistencies, asking the right questions, and turning data into meaningful insights.

The position offers exposure to credit decisions, customer relationships and senior management priorities, with room to expand responsibilities as the function develops.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer and vendor due diligence: Research and screen new and existing counterparties for potential compliance, financial, and reputational risks; support onboarding, documentation checks, sanctions and restricted-party screening, and escalation of red flags.
  • Credit risk and customer analysis: Monitor credit limits, outstanding exposures, and payment performance; analyze overdue balances and behavior trends; help prepare credit review reports and recommendations under established approval procedures.
  • Leadership reporting: Prepare clear reporting for senior management, including the CEO, on customer payment behavior, emerging risks, and significant issues requiring attention.
  • Cross-functional coordination: Work with Finance, Treasury, Sales, Legal, and Operations to resolve open issues and keep information moving.
  • Agreements and corporate controls: Track commercial agreements, renewals, obligations, and compliance requirements; maintain customer, vendor, lease, charter, trademark, and patent records and coordinate specialized review as appropriate.
  • Reporting and process improvement: Create dashboards, exception logs, and tracking tools; support contract-management software, automated alerts, and improved workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, economics, legal studies, or a related field preferred.
  • Recent graduates and early-career professionals with strong analytical skills encouraged to apply.
  • Investigative mindset, curiosity, and interest in how businesses operate.
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort with financial data and reporting tools.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Confidence asking questions, identifying concerns, and communicating findings.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Retirement savings plan with company match.
  • Career development and training opportunities.
  • Friendly and collaborative work environment.

NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee may perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Interoceanic Corporation (IOC) is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.
