Compliance Assistant

As a Compliance Assistant at Sun Savings Bank, you will be a key player in ensuring our adherence to regulatory requirements and safeguarding us from financial crime. You will be responsible for a range of critical tasks, from preparing regulatory reports to conducting compliance testing and collaborating with various business units.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) and Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs).
• Conduct initial investigations of flagged transactions.
• Ensure compliance with the Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA), BSP Circulars, and AMLC guidelines.
• Maintain meticulous records.
• Conduct periodic compliance testing.
• Identify control gaps and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with business units to implement improvements.
• Effectively communicate CCRO memos and new regulatory guidelines to relevant stakeholders.
• Assist with regulatory examinations and audits.
• Provide necessary documentation.
• Track the resolution of compliance-related issues.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in banking operations (eg. Cashier, Teller, NAC or as Loans processor), audit, compliance, or risk management.
• Strong understanding of AML regulations and compliance best practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized.
