What they need
Behind every successful audit, certification and export programme is a compliance professional who keeps the standards high and the details under control.
We're looking for a Compliance Coordinator to take ownership of compliance across our orchard and postharvest operations. This is a varied role where you'll work closely with operational teams, growers, auditors and industry bodies to ensure we continue to meet the high standards our customers and industry partners expect.
What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Compliance & Quality Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining compliance programmes across our orchard and postharvest operations. You'll play a key role in ensuring audit readiness, supporting certification requirements and driving continuous improvement across the business.
You'll:
● Lead the preparation and coordination of external audits and certification programmes
● Conduct internal audits and manage corrective actions through to completion
● Maintain and improve food safety, quality and compliance systems
● Develop, review and update policies, procedures and compliance documentation
● Investigate non-conformances, identify root causes and implement corrective actions
● Monitor legislation, customer requirements and industry standards to ensure ongoing compliance
● Analyse compliance data and prepare reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
●Lead orchard compliance programmes and certification requirements
● Build strong working relationships with operational teams, growers, auditors, regulators and industry bodies
● Provide guidance, coaching and support to a direct report
● Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and high standards across the business
About you
You are highly organised, naturally curious and enjoy understanding how things work. You have a strong eye for detail, but you're equally comfortable building relationships and influencing others to achieve positive outcomes.
You take pride in maintaining high standards, enjoy solving problems and can confidently balance regulatory requirements with practical business needs.
You'll have:
● Experience in a compliance, food safety, quality assurance or related role
● Experience working within horticulture, food manufacturing, primary industry or another regulated environment
● Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Strong investigation, problem-solving and analytical skills
● Confidence working with a variety of stakeholders across all levels of an organisation
● Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word
● A full New Zealand Driver Licence
● The legal right to work in New Zealand
Knowledge of HACCP, SQF, GAP, GRASP, Zespri, KVH or other quality and compliance frameworks would be an advantage, but we are open to candidates with transferable compliance experience from other industries.
