Compliance Director (cryptocurrency, payment)

Job Scope

• Lead cryptocurrency payment license applications across various regions and jurisdictions
• Engage with regulatory authorities to resolve queries and expedite application processes
• Stay updated with HK's regulatory environment and global compliance requirements for digital assets and Web3 businesses
• Develop and implement risk assessment frameworks for digital asset transactions and Web3 applications
• Oversee AML transaction monitoring and suspicious activity reporting related to cryptocurrency transactions
• Provide training got internal teams on regulatory changes, risk awareness, and best compliance practices.
• Provide compliance guidance for cross-border payments, virtual asset service provider (VASP) regulations, and Web3 business models

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• 5-8 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or regulatory roles within crypto exchanges, fintech, digital assets, or Web3 sectors
• At least 2 years in a supervisory role within a financial institution preferred
• Professional certifications such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist), ICA, or equivalent are highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of AML/CTF compliance and relevant regulatory requirements
• Experience with blockchain analytics tools (e.g., Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic) is a plus
• Knowledge of smart contracts, DeFi protocols, and Web3 governance models is preferred
