Compliance Executive

Role & responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and submission of federal, state and local tax returns.
• Handle and support GST, TDS, Professional Tax (PT) and Income Tax compliance.
• Conduct basic tax research and analysis to ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
• Maintain accurate tax records, working papers and supporting documentation.
• Review tax filings and supporting data to identify discrepancies, errors or compliance gaps.
• Coordinate with senior team members during tax audits and assessments.
• Assist in responding to queries and requirements from tax authorities.
• Monitor changes in tax regulations and statutory compliance requirements.
• Maintain compliance calendars and ensure timely completion of applicable filings.
• Prepare and maintain reports and documentation related to tax compliance.
• Work closely with internal teams and external consultants, wherever required.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in tax compliance/accounting.
• Good understanding of GST, TDS, Professional Tax and Income Tax.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Experience supporting audits and tax assessments.

• Relevant internship, certification or coursework in taxation/accounting will be an advantage.
