Compliance Manager

People Architects is partnering with a fast-growing health and wellness company to recruit a Compliance Manager.

We are seeking a Compliance Manager to join a growing metabolic health and longevity membership brand backed by an established direct-to-consumer health and wellness organization. The company partners with licensed clinical providers to deliver patient care while managing the marketing, digital experience and customer lifecycle.

As our first dedicated compliance hire, you will build and own the compliance function from the ground up. The primary focus will be advertising and promotional compliance , ensuring consumer-facing claims and marketing materials are accurate, substantiated and compliant while creating processes that allow the marketing team to move quickly.

You will also oversee healthcare merchant certification, consumer health data and privacy, subscription practices, partner compliance, regulatory monitoring and training.

Responsibilities

Advertising, Claims & Marketing Compliance

• Build and maintain the claims-substantiation process, including approved claims and prohibited language.
• Review consumer-facing marketing across paid media, websites, landing pages, email/SMS, social, video, PR and other digital channels.
• Create an efficient compliance-review process with clear guidelines and fast turnaround times.
• Establish standards for testimonials, outcome claims, imagery, endorsements, influencers and affiliate marketing.
• Manage healthcare advertising compliance across Google, Meta, TikTok and other platforms, including certification, disapprovals and appeals.
• Audit live marketing and partner content and address potential compliance issues.

Compliance, Privacy & Regulatory Oversight

• Build and maintain the broader compliance program, policies and procedures.
• Monitor FDA, FTC, NAD, state and other regulatory developments and translate them into practical guidance for the business.
• Oversee healthcare merchant certification, HIPAA/PHI requirements and applicable consumer health data/privacy requirements.
• Review enrollment, billing, subscription, cancellation and refund practices for regulatory compliance.
• Evaluate pharmacy, clinical and other healthcare partners for applicable licensing, accreditation and compliance requirements.
• Maintain appropriate boundaries between business operations and clinical decision-making and partner with outside counsel when needed.

Training & Business Partnership

• Train marketing, creative and agency partners on advertising and promotional compliance.
• Develop practical guidelines that allow teams to identify common compliance issues before submitting materials for review.
• Provide timely, actionable compliance guidance while balancing regulatory requirements with the needs of a fast-moving business.

Minimum Qualifications

• 6 years of advertising, promotional or marketing compliance experience within a regulated consumer-health environment such as DTC telehealth, pharmaceuticals, medical devices or dietary supplements.
• Significant hands-on experience reviewing consumer-facing advertising and marketing content.
• Demonstrated experience building and managing a claims-substantiation process.
• Strong working knowledge of FTC advertising and health-claim requirements, subscription/negative-option requirements, endorsements and testimonials.
• Understanding of FDA requirements related to prescription and/or compounded medications.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA, PHI and consumer health data/privacy requirements.
• Hands-on knowledge of Google and Meta healthcare advertising policies, including healthcare/telemedicine certification, disapprovals and appeals.
• Ability to provide clear, practical compliance guidance and confidently challenge noncompliant marketing when necessary.
• Must be US-based and available during US business hours.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with DTC telehealth, GLP-1, metabolic health, HRT/TRT, longevity or other regulated consumer-health products.
• Experience with compounded medications and/or multi-state telehealth programs.
• Experience managing healthcare merchant certification.
• Experience building a compliance function from the ground up.
• Familiarity with corporate practice of medicine structures.
• Experience with subscription-based consumer businesses, affiliate/influencer programs or social-media compliance.
• JD, PharmD or relevant certification such as RAC, CHC, CHPC or CIPP.
