Compliance Manager

About the role

XChangeLab is a cross-border payments and FX company with operations in Hong Kong and Malaysia. We are looking for a Compliance Manager in Johor Bahru to run day-to-day AML and compliance work and keep the business safe as we grow.

Key responsibilities

• Run day-to-day AML / CFT compliance across our payment and FX business.
• Review and approve higher-risk client onboarding files (KYC / KYB, UBOs, source of funds and wealth, EDD).
• Run transaction monitoring: review alerts, investigate unusual activity and decide next steps.
• Screen clients and payments against sanctions, PEP and adverse media lists.
• Prepare and file suspicious transaction reports when needed.
• Keep AML policies, procedures and the risk assessment up to date.
• Support regulatory reporting, audits and reviews by banks and partners.
• Train staff on AML and compliance basics.
• Give practical compliance advice to sales, onboarding and operations.

About you

• 5+ years in AML / compliance at a bank, PSP, remittance, money service, FX or fintech company.
• Strong hands-on experience with KYC / KYB, EDD and transaction monitoring.
• Good knowledge of AML / CFT rules and sanctions.
• Able to make clear, well-reasoned risk decisions and write them up.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Confident with Excel / Google Sheets and compliance tools.
• CAMS, ICA or similar AML certification (nice to have)
• Experience with Hong Kong or Malaysian regulators (nice to have)
• Experience with cross-border payments and multiple currencies (nice to have)
