What they need

National technology-enabled Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) broker and transportation solutions company that coordinate medically necessary transportation through a managed network of sub-contracted transportation providers seeks an experienced Manager of Compliance. This innovative healthcare logistics organization combines advanced technology with a person-centered touch to address complex transportation hurdles across the healthcare ecosystem. By leveraging a proprietary software platform, the company tailors transportation solutions around distinct patient requirements and social drivers of health. This integrated model enables health systems, plan administrators, and care teams to streamline care navigation, lower operational expenditures, and improve outcomes.

Serving hospitals and health systems, health plans and managed care organizations, and PACE organizations, this early-stage, high-growth company operates at the intersection of healthcare, transportation, and government contracting with trips funded by Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and private sources. As such, a strong compliance program is core to their license to operate and to their continued growth.

Candidate profile:

The Manager of Compliance will serve in a hand’s-on leadership role to cultivate and execute the company's compliance program by operationalizing a comprehensive compliance framework mapped to the OIG’s seven-elements. The successful candidate will promote compliance on a day-to-day basis by utilizing continuous control monitoring and evidence, to help a lean team and facilitate on-going compliance as the organization grows and evolves, continuously making it defensible to payers, regulators, and diligence counterparties.

This is a hands-on leadership role including managing two analysts, working shoulder-to-shoulder with the IT Security and Network teams, and leading the charge to turn policy into consistently executed, evidenced controls. The position reports to the Chief Financial Officer, who serves as the executive sponsor of the program, with direct access to executive leadership for the matters that require it.

This is a remote role for a builder-operator who wants ownership. This role has executive sponsorship, modern tooling, and a compliance framework to run with — and the chance to grow the function (and your own role) as the company scales.

Responsibilities:

Own and run the compliance program

Cover the regulatory and payer landscape

Lead privacy and HIPAA compliance

Lead provider credentialing, investigations, training

Lead the team

Qualifications:

· 5–7 years in healthcare or government-payer compliance, with meaningful exposure to Medicaid and/or Medicare Advantage; experience operating a compliance program consistent with the OIG seven elements.

· Working knowledge of the core regulatory domains that govern this business: federal fraud-and-abuse law (FCA, Anti-Kickback), exclusion/preclusion screening, HIPAA Privacy and Security, and FDR/downstream-oversight obligations.

· Demonstrated ability to own a program end to end — turning requirements into SOPs, recurring tasks, evidence, and metrics — not just advise on it.

· People-leadership or team-lead experience, and the judgment to build and mature a function in a fast-moving, resource-conscious environment.

· Strong cross-functional operator: comfortable driving controls and cooperation across IT Security, Network, and Operations.

· Excellent written communication and the discipline to produce audit- and diligence-ready documentation.

· NEMT, transportation, or managed-care experience;

· Certification such as CHC, CCEP, or CHPC (or willingness to obtain).

· Hands-on experience with Vanta or a comparable GRC / continuous-monitoring platform, and comfort using AI tools to scale a lean team.

· Experience supporting payer audits, regulatory examinations, or M&A diligence.
