Compliance Officer

About the role

We are looking for a Compliance Officer to join our team and support the organization in maintaining a strong compliance framework and ensuring adherence to applicable regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and regulatory requirements.
• Provide advice and guidance to management and staff on compliance-related matters.
• Conduct compliance reviews and monitoring activities, and follow-up on any identified issues.
• Support regulatory reporting and submissions to the relevant authorities.
• Keep abreast of changes in regulatory requirements and assess their impact on the organization.
• Liaise with internal departments and external parties on compliance matters.
• Assist other departments to develop, document and review policies and procedures that facilitate regulatory adherence in a cost effective way.
• Prepare compliance reports and updates for Management.
• Report directly to the Chief Executive on compliance risk assessment, deficiencies, non-compliance incidents and their impact, including mitigating measures recommended or already taken.

About you

• Minimum Diploma or Degree in Finance, Business Law or a related discipline
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in a compliance role, preferably within the financial services or insurance industry
• Good knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance practices
• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
• Meticulous, independent and able to work with minimum supervision
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
